See the iconic sights of Aix-en-Provence including the baroque and rococo 17th and 18th-century hôtels particular in the Quartier Mazarin, then a stroll along Cours Mirabeau a wide walkway shaded by rows of lush plane trees with mansions & restaurants that were the haunts of cultural icons including Camus & Cézanne. As we wander you'll notice the city’s famous fountains many Roman springs that have been hydrating Aix for thousands of years. We will visit the La cathédrale Saint-Sauveur, Le Tour de l'Horloge & l'Hotel de Ville, built in 1510 and the adjoining Provençal markets. After a light snack lunch, a short drive into the Provence countryside to visit Château Bonisson, a unique privately owned winery and contemporary art centre with wine tasting before we head back to the ship.

An exceptional morning visiting the Rhône valley wine region of Châteauneuf du Pape with visits to two exceptional winemakers with tasting of their exception red & white wines. A short stop for lunch before driving back to Avignon. Visit to the iconic sights of Avignon, an historic city best known for being the location the Popes fled to after leaving Rome in the 14th century. The impressive Palais des Papes – one of the Avignon's best known sites is on our list. There are so many landmark buildings to discover across the city, gorgeous squares to sit back and watch the world go by. As well as all the history it also has a lively, modern feel with lots of great shops, bars and restaurants and finishing up in a cafe opposite the Pope's former Palace before heading back to the river cruise pier to rejoin the boat.

See the iconic sights of Arles - this picturesque town steeped in history dates back to its origins as a Greek settlement. Arles became one of the most important cities of the Roman colony Gaul founded by Julius Caesar in 46 BC.This classical town has wonderfully preserved ruins, includes - the Amphithéâtre d'Arènes, Cloisters of Saint-Trophime, the Roman Theatre. Arles has a pleasant Provençal ambience, leafy public squares and slow-paced lifestyle. Our visit will include historic monuments & for art lovers we follow the Van Gogh Trail to see the scenes of the artist's famous paintings. After a light snack lunch a short drive to visit the Abbaye de Montmajor, a fortified Benedictine monastery built between the 10th & 18th centuries. Then a short drive back to the river cruise pier to rejoin the boat.
Pick up at the Cruise Terminal Marseille and drive to Aix-en-Provence. Walking tour of the old town, visit to the cathedral, the street markets, shops, cafes and enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful historic market town. Time for a light lunch (not included) before driving into the Provence countryside to visit Château Bonisson a contemporary art centre & winemaker - wine tasting included. Return drive to Marseille Cruise terminal to rejoin the ship.
Itinerary from Avignon
We meet you at the river boat pier in Avignon. A short drive to the historic village of Châteauneuf du Pape. Visit to the castle ruins & village and two renowned winemakers of the Rhône valley region with wine tastings at both vineyards of a selection of their excellent red & white wines. Time to stop in the village for a light lunch (not included) before return to Avignon. Walking tour of the old town & visit the Palais des Papes before we rejoin the boat.

We meet you at the river boat pier in Arles. Walking tour of the old town and historic sites of this ancient Roman town. Visits to the Amphithéâtre d'Arènes, the cathedral & Cloisters of Saint Trophime & Roman Theatre, closely following in the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh. Time to stop for a light snack lunch (not included) then a short drive out to visit Abbaye de Montmajor. Return drive to the river cruise pier in Arles.
