Christopher Curtis: I'm a self-taught photographer whose passion for photography began at the age of seven, when I picked up my first camera. Since then, photography has become much more than a hobby—it's been a lifelong journey of curiosity, creativity, and continual learning.
I enjoy exploring every genre of photography, from street life and architecture to landscapes, people, and the quiet details that often go unnoticed. Every photograph is an opportunity to observe differently, to tell a story, and to challenge myself creatively. Even after many years behind the camera, I'm still discovering new ways to see the world and to capture the beauty, atmosphere, and emotion of a place.
Having spent most of my adult life living in London, I now call Marseille home, where I live with my French husband, Laurent, and our much-loved Weimaraner, Olive Oyl. Together, we are the founders of OohProvence, creating bespoke private experiences that introduce visitors to the authentic culture, landscapes, and art of living that make Provence such a remarkable destination.
My photography workshops are about far more than learning camera settings or technical skills. They are about slowing down, becoming more observant, discovering your own creative vision, and returning home with photographs that capture not only what you saw, but how you experienced Provence.
Laurent Nurisso: Although my work may initially appear to be inspired by popular culture, my real intention is to create entirely new worlds. I invite the viewer to become part of the journey—to lose themselves within each composition and allow their imagination to interpret its own story, where every image can hold multiple meanings and every destination is open to interpretation.
My work is populated by fragments of memory and imagination: vintage toys, comic-book heroes, signage, architecture, travel, and objects from another era, all woven together with experiences gathered throughout my life. The result is a series of imagined landscapes and narratives that are constantly evolving. The destination is never fixed; the creative process itself is the journey.
Having lived in Paris and London before making Marseille my home, I continue to draw inspiration from the places I've explored, the people I've met, and the cultures that have shaped my artistic perspective. Today, alongside my work as an artist, I am the other half of OohProvence, where I share my passion for creativity, art, and the remarkable landscapes of Provence. My workshops are designed to encourage curiosity, experimentation, and personal expression, helping participants discover not only new artistic techniques, but also new ways of seeing the extraordinary beauty that surrounds them.
