Tour summary
This tour begins with a visit to the beautiful classical Luberon village of Lourmarin, made famous by Peter Mayle's book 'A year in Provence.' Next stop the lesser known nearby villages of Lauris, discover the castle gardens and walk the tiny streets. We propose a stop here to enjoy a simple bistro style lunch to take in the atmosphere of this village. After lunch a sort drive through Cadenet & visit to an olive oil producer - Bastide du Laval visit the mill with tastings of a selection of their award winning olive oil. From here in the direction Cucuron with a stop at a local Luberon winemaker to enjoy a tasting of some of their excellent wines. Finally visit the delightful village of Cucuron one of the most beautiful villages in Vaucluse, in the Luberon National Park. It has retained its Provençal authenticity and its atmosphere exudes an old-fashioned charm dating back to the 11th century. At the centre of the village sits a large water basin surrounded by shaded trees and time to enjoy a locally made ice-cream, wander the narrow streets and discover shops, cafe's and galleries. Your day ends after enjoying the ambience and atmosphere of three delightful Luberon villages, each one different and each with its own character and along the way enjoy the natural beauty of the Vaucluse region.
Tour itinerary
We will arrive to collect you from your hotel, chambre d'hôte, villa or apartment.
We leave by car first to the beautiful village and castle of Lourmarin, made famous by Peter Mayle's book 'A year in Provence.' Next stop the nearby perched hillside village of Lauris, time to stop for a light lunch at a local village bistro. Next in the direction of Cucuron drive through the village of Cadenet stop & visit to a unique acclaimed olive oil producer - Bastide du Laval, visit to the mill, followed by a tasting of olive oil.
Next onwards towards Cucuron, stopping off at a local vineyard to enjoy a tasting of some of the excellent wines produced in this region. Finally we arrive in Cucuron, at the heart of the Luberon national park. Walking tour at leisure of this 11th century village. From Cucuron return to your hotel or villa.

The total duration of the tour is 8 hours, assuming pick-up in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Avignon. There is a scheduled break for lunch, price not included.
